Kathua March 26, 2025 – In a significant step towards enhancing emergency response capabilities, NHPC Sewa-II Power Station handed over a state-of-the-art fire fighting vehicle to the District Administration of Kathua under its Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainable Development (CSR & SD) Scheme for the year 2024-25.The vehicle was formally handed over to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas by Shri Dheeraj Kumar, Group Senior Manager (Civil), and Shri Ashok Kumar, Group Senior Manager (E&C), at the DC Office, Kathua. The event also saw the presence of Chief Planning Officer Kathua, Shri Ranjit Thakur, along with other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dhiraj Kumar highlighted NHPC’s commitment to community welfare and emphasized that this initiative would significantly enhance local emergency services, ensuring quicker response times and improved safety for the residents.Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rakesh Minhas acknowledged the vital role of collaboration between NHPC Sewa-II and the district administration in addressing critical community needs. He appreciated the initiative, stating that the newly acquired fire tender, equipped with advanced fire-fighting technology, would greatly strengthen the district’s disaster management capabilities.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Minhas expressed gratitude to NHPC Sewa-II for their generous contribution, recognizing it as a key step towards enhancing public safety and regional development.
