JAMMU, MAY 12:- Conflicting Announcements Create Confusion Over Reopening of Schools and Colleges in J&K
Jammu and Kashmir, May 12: Confusion prevails among students, parents, and educational staff following contradictory announcements regarding the reopening of educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K Education Minister Sakina Itoo tweeted that all schools and colleges in non-border districts of Jammu and Kashmir will reopen from tomorrow, May 13. She indicated that the situation in these areas is stable enough to resume normal academic activities.

However, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu issued a contradicting statement. According to his tweet, all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions—both private and government—in the Jammu province will remain closed on May 13 due to the prevailing situation. Only medical colleges are allowed to remain open.

The conflicting messages have caused uncertainty, and an official clarification is expected soon to confirm the accurate status of educational operations across the region.
