BANI, JAN 20 :- The Indian Army’s recent visit to Panchayat Kanthal Morha Naloond in Bani is a great step towards preserving the region’s cultural heritage and promoting local handicrafts. Col. Parikshit Sharma and Tehsildar Bani Perdhyum Atri initiative to explore traditional handloom and spinning wheel works in the villages of Tehsil Bani is commendable.

During their visit, they witnessed the Dasi Handloom in action and met with local weavers, including Dhani Ram, Mool Raj, and Chandi Parshad.
These artisans shared their expertise on constructing traditional desi blankets, Shwal, and Pattu using the Dasi Handloom. The officers’ appreciation and encouragement of the weavers’ efforts will surely help revive and promote this traditional craft.

India’s handloom industry is a significant part of its cultural heritage, with a history dating back over 5,000 years.
The industry provides direct and indirect employment to millions of weavers and allied workers, mostly from rural and semi-urban areas. Efforts like this visit will help preserve traditional techniques and promote sustainable livelihoods for artisans.

The Bani region with its rich cultural traditions and handicrafts, is an ideal place to start this initiative.
