BANI, JANUARY 25:- 7 JK cops who foiled Amarnath terror plot among gallantry Fifteen individuals from Jammu and Kashmir have been awarded the President’s Medal for Gallantry on Republic Day 2025. The recipients include:
- DySP Lt. Humayun Bhat: a deputy superintendent of police who laid down his life during an encounter with terrorists in south Kashmir’s Kokernag in September 2023 ¹.
- ADGP Vijay Kumar: a former inspector general of police in Kashmir, who played a crucial role in averting a possible terror attack on the Amarnath Yatra in June 2022.
- SSP Iftkhar Talib: a senior superintendent of police who demonstrated exceptional bravery and dedication to duty.
- Twelve other brave individuals from Jammu and Kashmir Police, including Azhar Rashid, Maajid Afzal Wani, Safeer Lone, and Shahnawaz Ahmad Deedad, among others.
