BASOHLI, 27 FEBRUARY :- Thakur Darshan Singh , Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Basohli, attended the valedictory function of the seven-day Winter Camp organized under the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Government Degree College Basohli as the Chief Guest.
The programme was organized with great enthusiasm and discipline by the College Principal, NSS Programme Officer, and dedicated volunteers. During the ceremony, NSS volunteers presented a comprehensive report highlighting the various activities undertaken during the camp, including social service initiatives, cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns, and community outreach programmes.
The event also featured vibrant cultural performances, street plays, and patriotic songs. Through these creative presentations, students conveyed strong messages against social evils and demonstrated their commitment to community service and nation-building.
Addressing the gathering, the MLA emphasized that the National Service Scheme serves as a powerful platform for instilling values of service, discipline, leadership, and patriotism among youth. He remarked that NSS not only contributes to academic growth but also helps students understand their social responsibilities.
Appreciating the dedication and hard work of the volunteers, he stated that the youth of Basohli have immense potential to bring pride to the region and the Union Territory.He congratulated the college administration, NSS Programme Officer, and volunteers for the successful organization of the camp. On the occasion, certificates were distributed to participating volunteers to acknowledge their efforts and encourage continued involvement in social service activities.The programme concluded with the National Anthem. Students, faculty members, and prominent citizens present at the event expressed gratitude to the MLA and extended their best wishes for the bright future of the youth.
