BANI, MARCH 07:- A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party led by Pahari District President Madan Lal met the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Bani in Kathua district, and submitted a memorandum regarding the problems faced by villagers due to land sliding caused by heavy rains.
According to a representation submitted and demand agricultural land belonging to several villagers has been badly affected due to continuous rainfall. In some places, land erosion has increased the risk to nearby houses as well.The memorandum states that protection walls should be constructed under the MGNREGA scheme to safeguard both agricultural land and residential houses of the affected families.Several residents from panchayats including Gatti Moda Achalla, Sitti, Bhandar, Sandroon and Fatehpur have reported land sliding incidents and requested immediate intervention from the administration.
The affected villagers have urged the administration to take swift action and approve the construction of protection walls to prevent further damage in the coming rainy season.
