Kathua, March 20, 2025<\/em> \u2013 The Social Welfare Department Kathua<\/em>, under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)<\/em>, successfully organized a 2-day workshop<\/em> on “Empowering Women to Speak Out Against Harassment”<\/em> in collaboration with Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua<\/em>. The workshop took place from 19th March 2025 to 20th March 2025<\/em>, aiming to raise awareness and empower women to speak out against harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day<\/em>, also the culmination day<\/em> of the workshop, was held in the auditorium of GDC for Women, Kathua<\/em>. The program commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony<\/em>, followed by a welcome speech by Dr. Rachna<\/em>, Associate Professor at GDC for Women, Kathua. Dr. Rachna extended a warm welcome to all the staff, chief guest, and the students who participated in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Guest<\/em> for the event, Advocate Prakriti<\/em>, delivered an insightful speech on women’s rights<\/em>, legal acts<\/em>, and policies<\/em> designed to protect women and promote their well-being. Her address provided valuable knowledge to the participants on the laws and frameworks in place to combat harassment and support women’s empowerment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event also included a Saraswati Vandana<\/em> and several cultural performances<\/em> by the students of the college, adding a vibrant and festive touch to the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the workshop’s culmination, the winners of the Poster Making Competition<\/em> on “Empowering Women to Speak Out Against Harassment”<\/em> were felicitated. The winners were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes<\/em>, with certificates of participation<\/em> given to all participants. These posters showcased the creative expressions of students on women empowerment and the importance of speaking out against harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with the felicitation of the Chief Guest, Principal of GDC for Women<\/em>, and Convener of IQAC<\/em>, with mementos<\/em> in recognition of their support and contribution to the success of the event. The Social Welfare Department<\/em> and Govt.
