Kathua, February 11 : The District Administration Kathua, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), observed World Safe Internet Day by organizing a Safe Internet Workshop at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, Kathua.
The workshop, aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness, was led by District Informatics Officer, NIC Kathua, Anurag Yadav, who served as the Resource Person. Representatives from various government departments participated in the interactive session, gaining insights into key aspects of internet security.
The session covered essential topics such as internet safety, social media risks, fake websites, phishing, digital arrests, and other potential cyber threats. Participants were also guided on implementing safety measures to ensure secure internet access in government departments, thereby minimizing cyber vulnerabilities.
A dedicated query session allowed attendees to clarify doubts, debunk common myths, and seek expert guidance on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for protecting sensitive data. The resource person emphasized the importance of proactive cybersecurity measures to safeguard digital assets and prevent data breaches.
The initiative was part of the commitment of the District Administration Kathua to promoting safe and responsible internet usage, ensuring that government departments and employees are well-equipped to handle digital security challenges.
