Kathua, September 17:
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting of officers from works departments to review the physical and financial progress under the District Capex Budget 2025–26. The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
It was informed in the meeting that out of a total of 1788 works earmarked for the current financial year, administrative approval has been accorded to 1769 works. Further, 1764 works have been tendered, of which 139 have been allotted for execution on ground.
While reviewing sector-wise progress, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to expedite the allotment process of pending works. He directed the concerned departments to complete the allotment of all approved works within one month’s time so that timely execution is ensured and developmental targets are achieved.
The DC underlined that delay in tendering and allotment hampers the pace of development and deprives the public of early benefits. He asked executing agencies to adhere strictly to timelines, maintain transparency in the process, and ensure quality in execution of works.
The meeting also discussed bottlenecks being faced in implementation of certain projects. The DC instructed officers to resolve field-level issues in coordination with stakeholders so that progress does not suffer. He also laid stress on regular monitoring and submission of updated progress reports to his office.
CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur, ACD Kathu Akhil Sadotra, XENs of PWD, PHE, PDD, PMGSY of different divisions were also present.
