Bani’s Biggest Cricket Festival — BPL 2025 — Concludes in Glory with a Vision to Boost Tourism

BANI,NOVEMBER 30 :- The inaugural edition of the Bani Premier League (BPL) concluded today with an exciting and action-packed final match. Organized by Bharat Sports Club, the four-day cricket tournament was successfully conducted with the support of NHPC Sewa-II Power Station Mashka. The grand finale witnessed an intense clash between Golden Gladiators and Royal Challengers Duggan.

Winning the toss, Golden Gladiators opted to bat first and posted a target of 81 runs in 12 overs, losing 9 wickets. Musharraf played a crucial knock of 22 runs, anchoring the team’s total.

Chasing the target, Royal Challengers Duggan Team dominated the game and sealed victory in just 9 overs loss of 6 Wicket, Akhil delivered a spectacular performance, scoring 46 runs off just 20 balls, which earned him the title of Player of the Tournament.

At the closing ceremony, top-performing teams and players were felicitated with awards. The winning team received ₹24,000 in cash along with the championship trophy, while the runner-up, Golden Gladiators, was awarded ₹17,000 in cash and a trophy. Individual awards in various categories — including Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best Captain, and others — were also presented.

The final match was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ashok Kumar Group Senior Manager, NHPC Sewa-II Power Station, Major Amit Uppal Indian Army, and DSP Ameen Bhatt. A large number of enthusiastic local cricket fans were also present to witness the thrilling finale.

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Qureshi, President of Bharat Sports Club, shared that this was the first edition of the tournament under the name Bani Premier League. Previously known as the Freedom Cup, the event has now completed its 15th edition overall. He highlighted that the primary objective of the tournament is to promote sportsmanship among youth and encourage them to stay away from drugs.

Qureshi also announced ambitious plans for next year, stating that the tournament will be organized on a much larger scale, featuring 32 teams — 16 from the local Bani region and 16 from outside areas across Jammu & Kashmir. Separate groups will be formed for both categories. He emphasized that the rebranding to Bani Premier League (BPL) aims to promote the region’s sports culture and tourism, while inspiring the youth to channel their energy into sports.
