BANI , JUNE 13: The Sanjaan Memorial Premier League regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious cricket tournaments in the Bani region, commenced with great enthusiasm at Doulah Cricket Ground. With a legacy spanning nearly three decades, the tournament continues to attract cricket lovers from across the region and has become a symbol of sportsmanship, community bonding, and youth engagement.The tournament was inaugurated by District Agriculture Officer Raj Singh, Tehsildar Sudesh Sanjan in the presence of social activist Master Gauri Shankar, senior citizens, members of the Agriculture Department, and a large gathering of spectators.The opening match was played between Young Star Rising Duggan and RCB Bani.

After winning the toss, RCB Bani elected to field first. Batting first, Young Star Rising Duggan posted a competitive total of 115 runs in 10 overs. In reply, RCB Bani displayed an impressive batting performance and successfully chased down the target in just 8.4 overs. Anshu was declared the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Speaking on the occasion, organizer Advocate Gagan Sanjaan said that the tournament is being organized with the objective of promoting sports among youth, spreading awareness against drug abuse, and highlighting the tourism and religious destinations of the Bani region. He informed that four matches are scheduled to be played on the second day of the tournament.
Addressing the gathering, Master Gauri Shankar emphasized that sports are not merely about winning or losing but serve as a platform for brotherhood, unity, and social interaction. He said that sports contribute significantly to the fitness, discipline, and overall personality development of young people and should be actively encouraged.The tournament witnessed an enthusiastic response from cricket fans, with spectators enjoying both the competitive action on the field and the scenic beauty of the surrounding hills.
