BANI, APRIL 10: A public darbar was organized at Moar (Bhatoddi) in Billawar subdivision by to hear and address the grievances of local residents.

Several senior officials from different departments were present during the darbar, including Tehsildar Lohai Malhar Anil Kumar, BDO Duggain Ajay Singh, Deputy CEO Billawar Ram Lal, and AEE PMGSY Mohd Salim Choudhary, along with other officers of the Billawar subdivision.

During the interaction, locals raised a number of pressing issues, with road connectivity emerging as a major concern. Residents demanded the construction and restoration of the Kohag–Bhattodi road stretch, covering nearly 35 kilometers. Responding to this, the MLA informed that ₹4.5 crore has already been sanctioned and restoration work is currently underway.

Another key issue highlighted was the construction of a new building for Government High School Moar, as the existing structure had been damaged due to past rains and floods. The Deputy CEO informed that ₹4.5 crore has been sanctioned for the project, and efforts are in progress to identify a suitable site. The MLA directed the concerned revenue authorities to expedite the process and complete all formalities at the earliest.

Residents also voiced concerns regarding shortage of staff in schools and health institutions, water scarcity in Nand Moar, ration card bifurcation, renewal of gun licenses, and pending compensation cases.

Addressing compensation for damages caused by floods and landslides, the MLA stated that cases are under active consideration of the concerned authorities. He assured that eligible beneficiaries would be covered under or provided compensation as per norms, subject to submission of required documents. He further added that genuine left-out cases would be provided financial assistance ranging from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The Deputy CEO was also directed to take necessary steps to address the shortage of teaching staff in the area.

Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, the MLA assured that all genuine demands raised during the darbar have been noted and will be resolved in a time-bound manner. He also announced that a new ration store will soon be established at Moar to improve service delivery for the local population.
