BASHOLI, MAY 20:- The appointment of senior IPS officer Shakti Kumar Pathak as In-charge Inspector General (IG) of Police has brought immense pride and celebration across Basohli , Bani and the entire Kathua district.A native of Basohli, Shakti Kumar Pathak is widely regarded as a true “Son of the Soil,” whose rise to one of the senior positions in the police administration has become a moment of honor for the region. Residents, social organizations, and prominent citizens have congratulated him on the prestigious appointment.

According to the order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department, Pathak, a 2009 batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, has been placed as In-charge IG with immediate effect. He is presently serving as Assistant Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), J&K, and is also holding the additional charge of Director ACB, J&K.People from Basohli described his achievement as an inspiration for the younger generation, especially students and aspirants preparing for competitive examinations and civil services. Locals said that his dedication, discipline, and commitment to public service have always reflected the values and spirit of the region.The news of his elevation has been warmly welcomed across Kathua district, with many considering it a proud milestone for Basohli on the administrative map of Jammu and Kashmir.
