Kathua, April 19: The District Magistrate Kathua has ordered a temporary daily closure of the Tikri Morh stretch at KM 47.300 on the Basohli-Bani-Bhaderwah Road to facilitate widening and upgradation work of the existing diverted road.

According to the official order, the project has been scheduled to begin this week following a request from the concerned authorities. The road widening is being carried out to remove traffic hindrances and restore the stretch before the onset of the monsoon season, helping prevent possible rain-related blockages.

In view of public safety and to ensure the smooth execution of the work, vehicular movement on the said stretch will remain suspended for 15 days, from April 21, 2026 to May 4, 2026, between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM daily.

The administration has also requested the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, to deploy adequate police personnel for traffic regulation and to avoid inconvenience to commuters.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate during the construction period and plan their travel accordingly.
