BANI, APRIL 27:- Even today, residents of Gathiyaru and Dudhni mohallas, located in Wards 6 and 7 of the Seeti Panchayat in Bani Subdivision, remain deprived of a basic necessity — access to drinking water. While the Jal Jeevan Mission is reaching households across much of the country, conditions in these remote areas remain unchanged.

Local resident Ambi Chand shared that not a single pipeline has been laid here under the Jal Jeevan Mission. “Our entire settlement has been left out of this project. During summers, the situation worsens, and people have to travel nearly 5 kilometers daily just to fetch drinking water,” he said. The journey is especially challenging in hilly terrains like Gathiyaru and Dudhni. Villagers stated that during the rainy season, conditions become even more dangerous, as slippery paths and heavy rains make it extremely risky to carry water.Ano

Madan Lal JK Apni Party Leader , appealed to the government, saying, “The government’s vision is to provide tap water to every home, but on the ground here, nothing has materialized. People are struggling for their basic daily needs.

However, Mudassir Nazir Sheikh, an official from the Jal Jeevan Mission department, explained that delays in contractor payments have hampered the progress. “Most areas in Bani have seen improvements in water supply. In some regions, pipeline installation is still pending and is expected to be completed within this year,” he informed. The local community now awaits prompt action from the authorities so that they too can access essential services and lead a more comfortable life.
