CM Omar Abdullah Grants ₹1 Lakh for Bani Mela Promotion for the First Time, Thanks to Efforts of MLA Dr. Rameshwar Singh

BANI JUNE 27:- The historic Bani Mela, celebrated for preserving the rich cultural and traditional heritage of the hilly region, has received a major boost this year with financial assistance from the Jammu and Kashmir government. For the first time ever, the state government has sanctioned a grant of ₹1,00,000 for the organization of the fair. The announcement was made by the local MLA, Dr. Rameshwar Singh, from the stage of the Bani Mela.

This grant has been approved under the leadership of the National Conference government, with Omar Abdullah serving as the Chief Minister. Notably, the funding was secured due to the dedicated efforts of Dr. Rameshwar Singh, who currently serves as an independent MLA from Bani and supports the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government.

Dr. Singh stated that the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, recognized the cultural and tourism significance of the Bani Mela and approved the grant to elevate the scale of the event. He emphasized that Omar Abdullah has shown keen interest in the event and continues to monitor the region’s cultural development closely.

Local residents and members of the Pahari Cultural Manch expressed their gratitude to Omar Abdullah, the state government, and MLA Dr. Rameshwar Singh for the support. They also urged that the Bani Mela be promoted at the national level in the coming years to showcase the region’s cultural identity beyond the state’s borders.

Dr. Rameshwar Singh assured that the Mela will be organized on a larger scale in the future, with a vision to boost local tourism and preserve the region’s cultural legacy.
