Jammu, August 18 — Aam Aadmi Party MLA was seen riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, with a pillion rider also ignoring the mandatory safety gear.
The incident, captured on camera, has gone viral on social media, sparking criticism of the legislator’s disregard for traffic laws.In the image, a helmet is clearly visible strapped to the side of the bike, yet neither the MLA nor his companion chose to wear it. Adding to the controversy, a police Gypsy and a government-allotted black Scorpio—part of the MLA’s security cover—were seen following the motorcycle, raising concerns over law enforcement’s silence on the matter.
The incident has led to a larger debate: Are traffic laws meant only for ordinary citizens while influential leaders enjoy immunity?Traffic regulations are enforced strictly on the public, often leading to immediate fines for non-compliance.
However, when elected representatives openly flout these rules, it sends a questionable message to the youth and citizens who consider them role models.The big question now remains: Will the Traffic Department take action against this violation, or will the matter be overlooked due to the legislator’s political influence?
