BANI, MARCH 07:- The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Bani, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police, celebrated International Women’s Day with great enthusiasm. Officers and officials from Bani Police Station, along with the college faculty, staff, and students, participated in the event and shared their views on the significance of the day.
The event was presided over by Dr. Nisha Devi from the Hindi Department, who initiated the program with a brief introduction to the theme of International Women’s Day. College Principal Dr. Manohar Lal highlighted the importance of such programs in nurturing students’ talents. The discussion also emphasized the political rights of women enshrined in the Indian Constitution and various articles dedicated to their welfare.
The chief guest of the event, SHO Bani Surinder Raina, elaborated on the role of women in the armed forces and their contribution to the development of the state.
Students from the college, including Sonia Sharma, Binakshi Devi, Preeti Devi, and Munisha, participated as speakers and expressed their thoughts on the role of women in society. The female staff of the college was honored with awards in recognition of their dedication and responsibilities within the institution.
Several faculty members, including Professor Naseeb Kumar, Professor Akash Zutshi, Professor Mehnaz Rafiq, Professor Komal Mehta, Ms. Neena, Anita, and Silma, were also part of the event.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NSS Program Officer Dr. Resham Singh, who appreciated the efforts of all participants and emphasized the significance of celebrating women’s achievements.
