BANI, MARCH 13:- Residents of Bani are demanding the Shift of a liquor shop from their residential area, citing growing social issues and safety concerns for families.
However, Senior citizen Thakur Das emphasized that the shop, located in the heart of the town, is fueling alcohol addiction among the youth and negatively impacting nearby homes, schools, and educational institutions. He warned that its presence creates an unsafe environment for children, women, and the general public.

Another Senior citizens Uttam Chand Goswami said, “Alcohol abuse is rising every day, and urgent measures are needed. If no action is taken, future generations will suffer.”

Residents have urged district authorities to take immediate action and shift the liquor shop to another location. They also pointed out that similar protests have taken place in Kathua, Jammu, and other parts of the region in the past.

Meanwhile, Supporting the demand, Bani MLA Dr. Rameshwar Singh stated, “The liquor shop should not just be relocated but permanently shut down to eliminate alcohol addiction from society.” He has called for urgent intervention from the administration.
