Bani, March 27, 2025 – In a compassionate outreach initiative, the Indian Army organized a special Iftar gathering in Chandyar village, Bani Tehsil, Kathua district (J&K), aimed at fostering communal harmony and strengthening ties with the local community.

The event saw the participation of around 250 locals, including 20 widowed women who were provided with essential food packets as a gesture of support and care.The initiative was part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to assist and uplift vulnerable sections of society. While the widows received food supplies to help sustain them, the remaining attendees were served Iftari meals, creating an atmosphere of unity and inclusivity.

The event also provided an opportunity for the Army personnel to interact with the villagers, reinforcing trust and goodwill.

Local residents expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the Indian Army’s efforts in promoting peace, solidarity, and social welfare. The special attention given to widows was particularly lauded, reflecting the Army’s commitment to humanitarian assistance and community support.

The Iftar gathering served as a significant step in strengthening civil-military relations, demonstrating that the Army’s role extends beyond security to fostering social harmony.
