Ajit Singh, CEO of Basholi Bani Sarthal Tourism Development Authority told the Bani update Digital that the festival aims to promote Sarthal, Bani as a winter destination and showcase its rural flavor to visitors. “Sarthal is primarily a summer destination, but we want to invite tourists during the winter months also, when it looks beautiful during snowfall.”
Demand for Inclusion in Official Tourism Calendar
The people of Bani are demanding that the government include the Sarthal winter festival in Jammu and Kashmir’s official tourism event calendar. This would ensure the festival is held annually, generating local employment opportunities and boosting tourism in the region.
