Srinagar, May 7, 2025:
In light of the prevailing situation, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued strict instructions to all Administrative Secretaries and Department Heads to refrain from granting any kind of leave to government employees, except under exceptional circumstances.

The directive, issued by Rohit Sharma (J&K Administrative Service), Additional Secretary to the Government, emphasizes that no leave should be sanctioned unless the situation warrants it as an exceptional case.

The order, dated May 7, 2025, and circulated to key officials including the Director General of Police, Principal Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and heads of all PSUs and advisory boards, seeks to ensure full availability of staff during this critical period.

While the specific nature of the prevailing situation has not been detailed, the memo suggests a state of urgency or emergency requiring maximum administrative presence.

This move indicates heightened administrative preparedness and may reflect the government’s strategy to maintain strict control and coordination across departments.
