Jammu, May 8, 2025 — Multiple missiles allegedly launched from Pakistan were intercepted by our Indian air defense systems over Jammu.
The incident, which occurred around 8:45 PM, triggered a citywide blackout, plunging large parts of the region into darkness.
According to official sources, the missiles were detected and neutralized before causing any significant damage or casualties. The Indian Army and Air Force were on high alert following the attempted strike.
Eyewitnesses reported loud explosions in the sky, followed by power outages across residential and commercial zones. Emergency services were immediately deployed, and security forces cordoned off several key areas as a precaution.
As per a message from the administration, all power has also been cut off in the Kathua district as a security measure. The Kathua District Administration has issued an official advisory urging residents not to panic, remain calm, and stay indoors.
The administration assured citizens that they are fully at service during this time of emergency.
