Srinagar, June 21, 2025:The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has officially declared early summer vacations for all Government and recognized Private Schools up to the Higher Secondary level across the Kashmir Division. As per Order No. 167-DSEK of 2025 dated 21-06-2025, the summer break will be observed from June 23 to July 7, 2025.The decision has been approved by the competent authority in view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in the Kashmir region. The order, issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir, mandates all concerned departments to ensure proper implementation and wide public dissemination of the notice.The circular has been shared with divisional and district-level officials, including Deputy Commissioners, Police Authorities, and media platforms, for necessary action.The early summer break has been announced to safeguard the health and well-being of students during the ongoing high-temperature spell.If we look at the Jammu Division, it’s important to note that certain hilly areas such as Bhaderwah, Bani, Kishtwar, and Poonch, which follow a winter zone academic calendar, are not included in this summer vacation schedule, as their schools generally operate during summer and observe vacations during winter.
