BANI, AUGUST 13 :- The Indian Army’s Rising Star Corps organised a Veterinary Camp in Sarthal to provide medical assistance and care for the livestock of local residents, as well as members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities.

The initiative aimed to improve the health and productivity of animals that are essential to the livelihood of these communities.

During the camp, veterinary experts offered specialised advice, conducted check-ups, and provided necessary medicines. Around 150 people received free medicines, while more than 25 livestock — including goats, cows, buffaloes, and horses — were examined and treated. Local residents warmly welcomed the initiative and praised the Army’s efforts.

Local resident Nazir Ahmad said, “Such camps are highly beneficial for the people here. For the first time, a camp like this has been organised in Sarthal, where livestock owners often stay in remote mountain areas without even mobile network coverage. Our animals often fall sick, and reaching a doctor becomes extremely difficult. In such circumstances, the Indian Army organising a camp in these far-flung hills is a matter of pride for us. We are grateful to the Indian Army and request that such camps be organised in the future as well.”

Such efforts not only contribute to the welfare of the people and their animals but also strengthen the bond between the community and the Army.
