BANI, AUGUST 15: In a bid to strengthen educational infrastructure in remote areas, the 7 Sikh Li unit of the Indian Army distributed furniture to the Government Girl’s Primary School in Dhaggar, Kathua district.
As part of a development outreach programme, desks, benches, chairs, and tables were provided to the school, located in the hilly terrain of Kathua, to improve seating arrangements and create a more comfortable learning environment for students.

The distribution event was attended by school staff, the village sarpanch, and local residents. Former Sarpanch Amir Chand expressed his gratitude towards the Army, stating, “We are extremely thankful to the Indian Army. The Army not only defends the nation at the borders but also plays a vital role in social development within the country. This school was in great need of furniture, and after 79 years of Independence, these children have finally received it.

The entire village is very happy with this initiative.”

School staff also extended their heartfelt thanks to the Indian Army for addressing a long-pending requirement of the institution. Villagers and parents acknowledged the positive impact of the effort, emphasizing that such initiatives would significantly contribute to the educational growth and brighter future of their children.

This initiative reflects the Army’s continued commitment towards promoting equitable access to quality education in even the most remote corners of Jammu and Kashmir.
