Noida, August 20: Former IPS officer Basant Rath has announced the launch of the inaugural General Studies batch for the UPSC Civil Services Examination at his coaching institute’s Noida centre next month. The announcement was made by Raat through a post on his official Facebook page.

The programme will be conducted in an offline classroom format only, with no online alternative at present.

As part of a special initiative, aspirants from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states will be eligible to join the course free of cost, subject to clearing a walk-in interview and an essay paper. For other candidates, the fee has been fixed at ₹2.4 lakh for the eight-month programme, inclusive of all taxes.

In a distinctive move, Raat has also promised that any student who does not make it to the UPSC final list by August 2030 will receive a full refund of the fee along with 6 percent compound interest.

A respected former police officer, Raat served in different capacities during his IPS career before moving towards academics and mentoring. His journey from a successful officer to an educationist reflects his commitment to nation-building and youth empowerment.

According to him, this initiative is meant to provide equal opportunities to aspirants from underrepresented regions while also ensuring financial security for those investing their time and effort in UPSC preparation.
