BANI, JANUARY 29: A fire incident broke out at around 9:30 PM on Wednesday evening in the Lowang area of Tehsil Bani, resulting in the complete destruction of a kirana (grocery) shop.
According to police officials, the fire was noticed after sudden flames were seen rising from the shop, following which local residents immediately informed the police. Soon after receiving the information, police teams, local residents, and Army jawans rushed to the spot. Due to timely and coordinated efforts of the police, Army personnel, and locals, the fire was brought under control after strenuous efforts, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
However, all ration items, grocery stock, and other materials stored inside the shop were completely reduced to ashes.
Police confirmed that no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident. A police party remained on the spot to assess the situation and completed the necessary legal formalities.
The affected shop belonged to Mohd Ishaq Girdawar, son of Abdul Latief, a resident of Khurwah.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
