BANI, JANUARY 29:- A meeting of ex-servicemen was held in Bani tehsil of Kathua district, chaired by Ashok Kumar to discuss pressing issues affecting the community. The attendees, including Mohd Abas, Saurabh Ahmed, Ashok Kumar, Haushair Singh and other ex-servicemen,raised concerns about the allocation of security guard jobs at NHPC’s Sewa Dam in Bani.
They pointed out that priority is being given to people from other areas, leaving ex-servicemen from Bani without these job opportunities. To address this, they demanded that the government provide security guard jobs to local ex-servicemen.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted the need for a “Sainik Aram ghar” & “Army canteen” exclusively for ex-servicemen in the area. These facilities would provide affordable accommodation and essential services to the ex-servicemen community.
It’s worth noting that Sainik Rest Houses are already available in various locations across India, with 338 rest houses spread across state capitals, district headquarters, and union territories These rest houses offer affordable accommodation and other facilities to ex-servicemen and their families.
