New Delhi, April 28, 2025:Acting on the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels, including prominent media outlets like Dawn News, Samaa TV, ARY News, and Geo News. According to government sources, these channels were found disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives, and misinformation targeting India, its Army, and security agencies.The action comes in the backdrop of the tragic terror incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where heightened sensitivity and national security concerns prompted strict monitoring of online platforms. The banned channels were allegedly attempting to incite unrest and disturb communal harmony through their content.The government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining national security and public order, emphasizing that any attempt to spread misinformation and create discord would be dealt with firmly.
